Hi!

I’m Barbara Groth, Surface Pattern Designer.

HEART'S INTENTION

It's taken decades for me to follow this dream. To design for fabric and home goods. Here's to more fun patterns and unique color combos that add so much joy to everyday life.


I'd love to license my art with sustainability focused partners and teams. With the ultimate goal that Makers love creating with Bisou Bites designs.

PURE PLAY = MAGIC

Sometimes I start with an idea. Or the idea comes from a happy accident.


  • Usually with a pencil. Sometimes a brush or Apple pencil.
  • I either scan my drawings or import from Procreate.
  • Vectorize everything in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Have way too much fun adding color.
  • Play with scale.


My workflow depends on content and color. Once I'm happy with a collection + colorways I'll draft mockups to see how it flows. This usually leads to numerous changes.



There's no shortage of inspiration. Everything inspires me. Now to turn all my ideas into patterns! 


It's all so FUN! The possibilities are endless.
